Jakhu temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman of Hindus. This is located on the top of Jakhu hill which is one of the hill from seven hills of Shimla. This is one of the prime places of Shimla where you must have to visit. This place is venerable for Hindus. During the battle of Lord Ram with Ravan when his brother Lakshman hit by a deadly arrow. To save his life Hanuman visited Himalaya Mountains to get the Sanjeevni herb to save his life. But he was unable to find the herb so he lifts the entire mountain and brings it to Lord Rama. On the way back he rested on the Jakhu Mountain. People say that there are footprints of Lord Hanuman on the top of the mountain.In 2010 a statue of Lord Hanuman was built on it which is 108 feet high. This mountain is also home to monkeys. So while visiting the temple you must take care of your bags and other items. Generally, monkeys don’t attack the people.
